Air Jordan IX (9) Retro “University Blue”
DESCRIPTION
Michael Jordan had announced for the first time that he was stepping away from basketball. In the absence of “His Airness,” Nike released the Air Jordan IX. It was designed by Tinker Hatfield and represented the globalization of the Air Jordan brand name. The sneaker features words in different languages that represent Jordan’s play, an inner bootie, encapsulated Air-Sole unit, “one-pull” lacing system, and a stitched “23” on the back. The shoes are dressed in white, black and university blue and share similarities to the Orlando Magic player editions worn by Nick Anderson and Penny Hardaway.
